We're delighted to present the latest updates and enhancements to MBioLIMS. This page describes the new features and changes we've made to give you an even better experience. Find out what's in store for you in this version and how it can benefit your use.

General

  • You can now view and filter custom fields applied to an entity on its search page.

  • Simple search has been enhanced to ensure optimal performance when custom fields are present. Now, filters and columns are hidden simultaneously.

  • We have redesigned and improved validation panels to make them more user-friendly.

  • Additional standard tube fields are available in the working list.

  • Release notes will no longer be integrated into the application, but will remain accessible via a link in the application footer.

  • When multiple items can be created from the same page (Kit, Destruction Request, etc.), after creating a single item, you'll be redirected to the item's page instead of a search page.

  • The logo on the login page and in the application header has been removed.

Strain

  • The Strain module has undergone a complete overhaul! Now, you can record a strain right from the creation of a sample: the strain species is displayed within the sample details. A new menu simplifies the management and visualization of taxonomy with three levels: Type, Genus, and Species. Lastly, you can customize the species page by adding custom fields.

Reception

  • It is now possible to validate or deny a reception. This new option can be activated in the application settings. Once activated, the reception remains editable until it is validated or denied. Tubes, on the other hand, cannot be used until the reception has been validated.

Patient

  • We have added a loading indicator to the Hospital patient ID field when a patient search is in progress on an HL7 or Epic on FHIR system.

eCRF

  • Unusable eCRF are not displayed anymore in the eCRF panel.

Sample Collection

  • It is now possible to specify a time for a visit.

Sample

  • You can now enter a passage number on a sample when the sample type is set to “Track passage number”.

Transformation

  • It is now possible to fill custom field applied to Sample on the transformation form.

Quantification

  • Fields A260, A280, 260/280 and 260/230 are no longer required in the import file.

Aliquoting and Pooling

  • A new shortcut to the aliquot form is available on the reception page.

  • A new "Simple" mode for aliquoting has been added. It is also possible to define in the application settings which aliquoting mode is selected by default.

  • Aliquoting in more than 100 children tubes is now possible. The limit has been increased to 1000 tubes.

Destruction

  • It is now possible to add custom fields to a destruction. These custom fields are available on the new “Search destruction“ page.

  • In order to ensure consistency, an internal code has been added to sample containers destructions.

  • In our ongoing efforts to enhance our English translations, we've updated the disposal feature to be called “Destruction”.

Storage

  • It is now possible to modify a rack name and its identifier directly from the update rack feature.

  • It is now possible to export a rack in List format from the rack details.

  • You can now define the default state of the checkbox “Reserved location” in an application setting.

Internal Transfer

  • It is now possible to customize the internal transfer form with custom fields.

Reports

  • For better understanding, we changed the name of the report type “User” to “Custom global report” and the page dedicated to these reports is now named “Custom global reports“.

  • Standard report headers now use the new RPR view: RPR_REPORT_HEADER.

Authentication

  • When a user is logged in via SSO, they can now log out of SSO via a link that will be displayed at logout.

Custom field

  • Text-type custom fields can now hold up to 250 characters, giving you more room for your data.

  • It is now possible to add possible values to a system custom field.

Import / Export

  • The Import and Export Settings menu now include the additional following items:

    • Plate templates

    • Rack models

    • Report headers

    • API clients

    • Taxonomy

    • Country

API - Webhook

  • It is now possible to add an Hospital patient Id as a parameter to the endoint /api/patients in order to filter the results returned.

General

  • All autocomplete fields now clearly display the selected item when the user reopens the menu, guaranteeing improved visibility and a smoother user experience.

  • Fixed an error when hovering over the working list fill button.

  • In certain searches, dropdown filters did not adhere to compartmentalization; this has now been addressed.

  • Fixed the problem of parameter settings being reset when a new version is delivered.

Reception

  • Fixed an issue in samples reception import when a storage location is already used.

Patient

  • Improved handling of connection errors to the Epic platform. A generic alert message is now displayed.

eCRF

  • eCRF dates now have the same format as in the rest of the application.

Study

  • Fixed an issue when spaces are inserted at the beginning or end of the visit type name.

  • We have harmonized filters on the visit type administration page when the Arms module is activated.

Sample

  • Fixed an issue where the Validate button could disappear when editing a sample.

  • Sample realization date is now automatically updated when the sample collection date is edited.

  • Fixed an issue when adding a "/" to a tube identifier.

  • Fixed an issue when updating the concentration tubes in batch with the µg/L unit.

Kit

  • Fixed an issue when editing a visit type and associating a kit label.

Assay

  • Fixed an issue with the "Value format" filter in the "Manage assay result types" page. This filter was displaying unavailable value formats for this entity.

Storage

  • Fixed an error that occurred when quantifying a tube stored in the future.

  • Fixed an issue in the search page after creating empty boxes or racks.

  • Correction of a problem causing an error message in the logs when deleting storage containers.

Shipping

  • Creating two shipping for the same box at the same time is no longer possible.

  • Fixed an issue in rack shipping where the number of sample containers shipped did not include tubes in racks.

Reports

  • Fixed an issue when selecting the language for a scheduled report.

Non-Compliance

  • Fixed an issue with line breaks in the Cause and immediate action of non-compliance.

User Account

  • Fixed an issue of access to the user profile management page.

Authentication

  • Maximum SAML authentication time is now set to 8 hours.

Custom Field

  • In some cases, custom fields applied several times to the same entity, with different conditions could appear in duplicate; this problem has been resolved.

Import / Export

  • When exporting visit expected dates, only visit types with expected dates are now exported.

  • Sample types with more than 50 characters are no longer accepted in the settings import.

  • Fixed an issue when two files have the same name in the container type export.

  • Fixed order of import of visit type settings files.

  • Transformation pivot import no longer permits to use a tube being in input and output of same transformation.

  • Samples with a future storage date can no longer be imported via a pivot file.

  • Multiple imports of the same assay from pivot import are no longer possible.

  • Fixed an issue where the realization date could not be entered in the pivot import.
